Superb conditions. Easy running through flawless, sunlit terrain.
No, I wasn't at that event either.

Women's Trophy: 10th Alice, Evie and Bryony (and Lucy H in 2nd placed EUOC team)
M120+: 5th David, Neil and Steve

W165+: 11th Lindsey, Sue and Wendy
Mixed A-H: 12th Dave M, Chris, Anne and 9th Natasha running with two good Swedish girls.

Ali McLeod wins JK 21E

Fri 30 Mar

Ali stormed round the tough 21E course to take the JK title, winning by almost a minute.
Well done - AIRE can't claim much if any credit, but the Bingley air may have played a part.

Interesting and challenging orienteering in some fairly rough and muddy (by the time I got there) terrain. Any advice on how to find orange controls at the end of the course appreciated - to your chair. Top ten overall were:

7th 16A Evie Conway
6th and 7th 20E Laura King and Lucy Haines (running as EUOC)
5th 21E Alice Leake
6th 65L Sue Stevens

1st 21E Ali McLeod
9th 40L David Alcock
7th 55L Steve Webb
5th 60L Peter Haines
3rd 70L Tony Thornley

Well done all.

Youngsters enjoy orienteering at the School Games!

Tue 27 Mar

Today saw forty teams (160 children) take part in the Schools' orienteering final at the School Games held in Beckett Park. Junior Development Officer Simon Martland has been working with children across the five local districts and held qualifying competitions in parks and schools. The children very much enjoyed their orienteering and there was very positive feedback from the accompanying teachers and adults. The photos capture something of the excitement of the event.
