Introducing our New Club Development Officer
We are very pleased to have appointed Mary Fleming as our new CDO. Her remit is to expand the reach of the club with a particular focus on diversity by accessing hard to reach communities. She comes with an impressive background having been a member of the Australian Junior and Senior World Championships teams and is also the CDO for CLOK so has some experience of the role already. She is currently doing an MSC in Biodiversity and Conservation in Leeds and has volunteered in various positions including Assistant Coach and Manager for the Australian Orienteering Team and as volunteers coordinator here in Yorkshire for SYO. Look out for her at our future events.

Well done, we did it. AIRE came 2nd behind SYO and qualified for the cup final! SAVE THE DATE 18th October Sutton Park, Birmingham. Lets get the whole club out and give it our best shot. Juniors will run free.

Classic orienteering at Holme Fell
Chris Burden's efforts in controlling the Lakeland event were repaid with a glorious day and superb orienteering. The rare challenge of having to interpret the brown lines on the map led to many mistakes. Parallel errors - mistaking one feature for another similar feature - were easily made. Clear attack points, augmented by good map reading and checking direction were the order of the day.
