Directions and Parking:

There is free parking at Nunroyd Park the park entrance is off New Road A65, Guiseley, Leeds, LS19 7TP. What 3 words; attend.highs.crisp.

Public Transport: Bus services which stop at New Road (A65) outside Nunroyd Park include 33, A3. 966 also serves the park.

Guiseley Train Station is 1.2 km from the park.

Start: The suggested start and finish points is about 100m off New Road and on the far (south) side of the cricket pitch to the Car Parking.

However you can start anywhere and visit control points. The Maprun courses allow you to start anywhere and the marked start becomes an extra control point to collect You must finish at the same point as you start though.

Map: The map is a specialist Orienteering map at a scale of 1:4000 ie 1cm = 40m with 5m contour interval.

Course: There are 4 suggested courses

Score Collect as many of the 18 controls by whichever route you want within 30 minutes. 20 points per control, 10 penalty points per minute over time.

Short 1.1km with 15m climb 12 controls

Medium 2.3km with 30m climb 16 controls

Long 3.1km with 35m climb 18 controls

For the best experience we strongly advise using the downloadable paper map. Switch on Maprun on your arrival but stow your phone so you aren’t referring to the map on your phone screen but just using the app to sound at correct location, and to track and time your run.

Open the app > Select Event > UK > Find Your Way > Aire Valley > Nunroyd Park Score,(Short Medium,Long) > Download

Remember you don't need to Start at the marked start you can start anywhere and visit control points. The Maprun courses allow you to start anywhere and the marked start becomes an extra control point to collect You must finish at the same point as you start though.

When you are ready to run press “Go to Start” Ensure your GPS is on by waiting to see the red dot. Go to your chosen Start point. Your time starts with the beep as you pass.

Take care not to activate the start before you are ready to go. If you do no problem just exit and start again.

Also take care not to go back through the start /finish point before you actually want to finish.

Beginners and novices should note that on the app we have enabled the "show current location" feature. If you think you may want to use this feature it needs to be enabled before you start.
