Assembly will be at Titus Salt School, Higher Coach Road, Baildon, Shipley BD17 5RH. Grid Ref:SE138384 W3W:////aura.horns.incomes
Please consider travelling by public transport. The school is 7 minutes’ walk from Saltaire station (frequent trains from Leeds, Skipton and Bradford Foster Square) and the 660 bus from Bradford Interchange stops outside the school. If arriving by train, exit the station onto Victoria Road and turn left (heading north). Walk to the end of the road, cross the canal and then the river and continue a short way on the path along the edge of the park. Exit right towards the playground (do not continue through the park). Turn left, keeping left of the grassy triangle, to reach Higher Coach Road. Turn left and walk along the road for 250m to the car park entrance of Titus Salt School.
We have use of the school car park (90 spaces) which is located on the N side of Higher Coach Road, between the public car park on the east side and the school buildings on the west. It will be signed shortly before the entrance. The gates will be open from 8:30 and will close automatically at 3:30 but will open to let individual cars out after that time.
The car park will not be marshalled. Please park within the marked bays. Competitors arriving on foot will be entering the school via the car park and some school children will be being dropped off for a gym class– please take care. Should the car park be full there is a public car park adjacent to the school with free all day parking.

Mapping notes and out of bounds:
Please note that all courses will encounter areas of out of bounds, competitors caught crossing or entering these areas are at risk of disqualification and could threaten our future use of the area. The two types of out of bounds areas as marked on the map are olive green - this is usually a flower bed or garden of a house, and purple hashing - this is an area that for safety and permissions we are not permitted to enter, please be aware that this includes the grassy area by the bandstand in Roberts Park, do not attempt to run across this area.
Course 4 will have some controls on a special circle man-made feature, these are marked on the map and on the control descriptions sheet and correspond to a sign post.
Terrain Description
Urban terrain, parkland and woodland.
Please take care crossing roads and in the vicinity of the canal and the river.
Whilst the majority of courses will be within urban terrain, there are still trip hazards at shin level that will be encountered on all courses. Not all of these will be taped due to the nature of the area, so please watch your step and be careful.
There is an open air theatre production in Roberts Park in the afternoon. This will be being set up in the morning . The performance area is out of bounds. Equipment will be being moved on trolleys along a wide path from a shed to the AOB area. Please do not obstruct or upset the theatre staff – our future use of the park depends on our causing no disruption to this event.
Other information
Saltaire is a world heritage site – it’s a Victorian model village, created by Titus Salt for the workers in his textile mill, ‘Salt’s Mill’. The mill is now an art gallery with many pictures by David Hockney and a new exhibition of his digital art ‘20 Flowers’. It’s free to enter, is open 9:30-5 and is opposite Saltaire train station. You’ll be running round the model village.
There is a Shakespeare in the Park event in Robert’s Park in the afternoon – starting at 2pm and repeated at 7pm - ‘Romeo and Juliet the Oops version’ – it’s free – just turn up.
There will be a cake stall from 11am-2pm for the YHOA junior squad. If you would like a hot drink please bring a mug.
There is a small café in Robert’s Park which you can access after your morning run, and there are several cafes and a bakery in Victoria Road just beyond the train station. There is also a café in Salt’s Mill (but gets very crowded).
Dog restrictions
Not in school grounds or on afternoon courses as they finish in school grounds. Allowed on morning courses if on a tight lead.
