Data Protection

The purpose of this statement is to tell members how their personal data is used.

  1. The club needs members to provide certain personal data for the efficient running of the club and to calculate and present results.
  2. Your name, telephone number, e-mail address and post code can be viewed by other members of the club on the Aire website. Access is restricted by a club password. This information is displayed in order to promote contact between club members. Your e-mail address will be used by the club and other orienteering bodies to send you information about club and orienteering activities. It will not be passed to commercial organisations.
  3. Your class, year of birth, SI number and BOF number can be viewed by other members of the club on the Aire website. Access is restricted by a club password. This information is used by members who organise club teams and present results. In future the information may be used to aid pre-registration for SI events.
  4. You address is collected through the website and other channels. It is not displayed on the website. It is used in the administration of the club and to send you copies of the club newsletter.
  5. The club is a member of British Orienteering. BO state that they may share your Membership Data with online entry companies such as Fabian4, Si Entries and EMIT, other Home Country Orienteering Organisations, Regional Associations, clubs, and third- party data managers that they appoint as data processors as part of administering your involvement in sport. They will not transfer your data to any other third parties without obtaining your consent and, where possible, will anonymise your data before sharing. They will also not share any other personal data you provide to us that is not Membership Data. By completing event entry forms you agree that we may publish your Personal Information as part of the results of the Event and may pass such information to the governing body or any affiliated organisation for the purpose of insurance or for publishing results either for the event alone or combined with or compared to other events. Results may include (but not be limited to) name, any club affiliation, race times and age group.
