I hope everyone enjoyed this first event in our Lockdown series and the first competitive use of the maprun app.
Many thanks to Tony Thornley for planning 3 very varied courses and particularly for getting to grips with Maprun in the terrain setting.
Great to see 74 runs over the week .
Very well done to Junior Emily Gibbins for winning the short course and to Quentin for doing a Long and Pick double.
If I have made any errors in the results please let me know and I will amend. Comments on the format and practical feedback on the app also welcome. We want to figure out its strengths and weakness to improve things as the series goes forward.

Urban/Parkland Long Sprint style event with an expected winning time of 25-30 minutes for experienced orienteers with a shorter course for newcomers. Bonus this week of additional terrain control picking course on Ilkley Moor. Event using the Maprun app

Public Car Park (free) at Darwin Gardens, Wells Road, Ilkley LS29 9TF. Also on street parking on Wells Road.
Public Transport: Ilkley rail and bus station is 500m from the Start via Wells Road. Bus services to/ from Ilkley include X52,X84,X85,62,74,74A.

Course Information
Courses: Urban, Long 3.8km +100m climb, Short 2.4km + 75m climb. Map 1:5000 5m contours. If doing the Long course, one possible route goes through the covered area by the station and next to the Post Office. Worth avoiding this when the PO is open (12-3 Mon-Fri).

Terrain Description
The Long and Short Course use the Urban and Parkland terrain of Ilkley town. The bonus Control Picking course is on Ilkley Moor (specially selected to be bracken free/light).
