A UK Urban League Event and A Yorkshire Urban League Event

There will be a presentation of a Fat Rascal to each class winner after the Chase.

Directions / Parking

The Event Centre and Parking for the Prologue and Chase are at Temple Newsam Park. The Event Centre will be in the Stables Block, at Home Farm next to the Temple Newsam Tea Room. Parking will be in the Temple Newsam Farm car park off the Colton Road entrance to the Park. Sign posts will be placed from the traffic lights at the Selby Road / Colton Road junction. This car park is also used by the adjacent Go Ape adventure centre.

Registration, Download and Toilets are in the Stables Block at Home Farm. There must be no muddy/spiked/dobbed shoes in the building or nearby cafe.

There is a cafe on site. There will be many other users of the park and the assembly area during our event. Please be aware and respectful of them.

The distance to the Prologue Start is approximately an 1.25k walk from Registration, and 900m from the car park.

The distance from the finish to download is similar.

There will be no clothing dump.

Please go straight to download, even if you pass your car. It's importsant that the SI team are able to process your results as fast as possible to ensure the Chase starts on time.

The Chase start and finish are adjacent to Registration

Close to Leeds Station there are bus services (19, 40, and 163) from Boar Lane (Stop P6) to Halton which leave you with an approximate 1.5k walk to assembly. Please try to use public transport.

Pre-entries close at Midnight on Sunday 1st September.

EOD Registration from 10.00 and closes at 11.30

Prologue Start times are from 11.00 - 12.00. Courses close at 12.45

Competitors with SIAC please punch at the Start and the Finish.

Chase Starts will be from 1.30. Your start time will be 1.30 plus however long you took for the Prologue. (Slower runners on the Prologue may be given starts a little earlier than 1.30 plus their time)

Chase Start lists will be available asap at Assembly

For the Chase, the start officials will call you up in time order. Once in the start line you will be able to collect your loose control descritpions and map. The map will be folded and sealed, only showing your course number. Please do not open the map until you have started.

This is a timed start. There is no need to punch at the start.

£8 for BO member Seniors; £10 for non-member Seniors. £4.00 for Juniors and Students.

Course 6 only: Seniors £4.00 Juniors Free

There is a £1 discount for competitors who enter both Saturday (Chasing Sprint) and Sunday (Leeds Urban Race) together.

Course 6 MYJ (M12-): WYJ (W12-)

You may run the course of your choice, but to be competitive in the Yorkshire Urban League you will need to enter the course listed for your class above.

Control descriptions will be on the map. There will be loose control descriptions in the start lane, but for the Prologue only.

Terrain Description

Colton is a modern housing estate with some complex areas.

The part of Temple Newsam that we are using is primarily a well-maintained public park with some areas of woodland. It was the area used for the inaugural JK Sprint.

Both maps at 1:5000 Updated 2019.


Dog restrictions

Dogs under tight control and preferably not on the courses.
