Safety Information

UPDATE (JULY 2nd) Holbeck Gala is being held on the same day and we were unable to obtain any information from them about it. It may affect runners on the Holbeck Moor event. Courses and the start have been modified to try and mitigate this. Please be aware that there is likely to be a significant number of people in the area and it may affect your optimum choice of route.

All runners should take extreme care to watch out for pedestrians in the area and children in the parks and open spaces. Run wide around blind corners to avoid collisions.

Vest and shorts are fine.

Directions / Parking

We would strongly recommend you use public transport and Shanks's pony to get to the event

The event assembly is only 1.8k walk from Leeds Station. Google Maps says it will take you 26minutes. You'll doubtless be quicker.

The no 1 bus from New Station Road stops at Lady Pit Lane with a further 300m walk to assembly. In total from the Station it takes approximately 15 minutes. The buses are timetabled approximately every 20 minutes. www.wymetro.com/bus Other alternatives are the 75 and 202 buses.

To drive to the event, approach from the M621. Leave the motorway at Junction 2. (Note that Junction 2A is now closed) From there follow Wesley Street on to Beeston Road

There will be no directional signs to the event. Please approach via Beeston Road, driving slowly and carefully as there may already be some competitors crossing the road.

There is on street parking available near assembly for anyone preferring not to use public transport. Please park with consideration to local residents. Please do not park in Cambrian Terrace. We are reserving any spaces there for event officials.

The best parking opportunities are at the north (cul-de-sac) end of Beeston Road.

Assembly is in Cambrian Terrace, an extension of Moorville Grove. Location details are shown on the upper RHS of this webpage.

Portaloos will be placed on Cambrian Terrace.

There will be a tent where you can deposit your belongings, but please try and avoid leaving valuables there. We will do our best to monitor it, but cannot guarantee absolute security.
