This Lockdown event will use the free Maprun F app to track and verify your run and register your time. If you have not used the App before please see our full information on our website page
Where to find the courses on the app: Open the app → Select Event → UK Folder → Aire Valley Folder → Wrose Brow Long Course or Wrose Brow Medium Course → Download
You can do more than one course by downloading both courses if you wish.
Each course has a unique PIN which is printed on the paper map. You need to enter this when you’re ready to start to get the map and tracking software functioning for the course you are running.
The courses have been planned by Chris Burden.
Long 5.0km +145m climb
Medium 3.7km +100m climb
You are likely to run up to 33% extra to the above straight line distances
The printed maps for all the courses are 1:5000 with 5m contours. We strongly recommend that you print a copy of your course to run with. Pictorial Control descriptions are not printed on the map. A pictorial version of the descriptions is available aboves
The 2 courses, Long and Medium, are primarily urban but include some cross-country sections, which can be muddy and are overgrown in places.
The area is bordered by 2 very busy roads, and has one other slightly busy road running through the centre, close to the start and finish area. This is crossed several times by both courses. Please take care on this and on all roads.
The GPS accuracy of the sites has been thoroughly checked.
Particularly in these Covid times take care to pass other pedestrians at a safe 2m distance, taking particular care to run wide when rounding blind corners.
