Directions / Parking

Assembly at the entrance to Kirk Lane Park, halfway down Newlands Avenue.

Parking is roadside on either Newlands Avenue or Queensway.  Please park with consideration for local residents.

Newlands Avenue can be approached from either Queensway or Kirk Lane.

Registration & Start Times

Registration from 5.30.  Mass start at 6.15

Entry Details

Seniors £3.50  Juniors £1.50.  You can run as a group. and share maps.  Entry fee is per map.

Course Information

Mass start score event.  Some of you will be Vampires.  The Vampire's object is to "vamp" runners with a control card and steal it from them.  If the red torch is shone on you, you have to swop your control card for a Vampire card.  You can't immediately vamp the person who has just vampe you.

Terrain Description

Parkland with a little dark woodland.

Important Information

Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.

Insurance: Everyone is welcome to take part in this event. However, from 1st January 2026, participants who are not members of British Orienteering will no longer be covered by British Orienteering’s public liability insurance. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered by our insurance. By entering any event from 1st January 2026, you acknowledge that you are taking part at your own risk. British Orienteering’s public liability insurance used to cover non-members at events before this date.
