Thank you for joining us at Temple Newsam yesterday. Some of you found the boggy bits but we hope that didn't spoil the fun. Join us for our next one at Ilkley Riverside on 20th June. More details to follow soon on the website.
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. Parents are expected to shadow young and/or inexperienced children.
Because of the wooded nature of this area and large size of the Park we will ask that adults accompany junior beginners .
Assembly is opposite the entrance to the Lawn Pond car park.

We will be located opposite the Temple Newsam Park South car park (near the running track). You should be able to see the Airienteers feather and green tent.
We will be ready to see you from 1:00 pm
When you arrive you will receive a “Dibber”, an electronic timing chip, given the opportunity to look at the map before you start and an AIRE coach will be on hand to assist to talk you through what to do and answer any questions. The course start will be adjacent. There you receive the map for your course, and you can start at intervals in your own time.
You can start at any time up to 2:30pm.
We will close the courses at 3pm.
Entries are £1 for each person for their first course. After that that there is no charge for running more courses.
For youngest competitors we provide three short (1km - 1.6km) courses. Do one and we tend to find a lot of people end up doing all 3!
For adult beginners, older children and those that have attended earlier events in the series there will be 2 medium and one longer course(s). The longer course would be ideal for someone who has been orienteering before and has a “Park Runner” type background.
No courses leave the park.
Parkland primarily abandoned Golf course and woodland
