Juniors to be accompanied by adults as crossing of 30 mph roads required.

Please take care when crossing roads and give way to other road users including cyclists and pedestrians

You must register on the evening, even if you have pre-entered. You MUST report back to registration, even if you don't complete the course

Venue: The Fleece Inn, 100 Fartown, Pudsey, LS28 8LU


Registration inside The Fleece Inn - enter by the main front door and turn left

into the bar area - all participants must register on the evening, even if they

have pre-entered.


As this is the last AIRE event before Christmas, why not stay for a drink and a chat afterwards?

Even if you are not running, come along from 7.30pm to catch up with your club mates!


Please DO NOT park in the The Fleece Inn Car Park - please park

considerately on Fartown or adjacent roads.


From the A6110 Leeds Outer Ring drive to Pudsey Town Centre traffic lights

(junction of B6154 and B6155). Head SW on B6154, after about 500m, pass

the Parish Church on your left and take the second left into Carlisle Road. At

the end of Carlisle Road, turn left into Fartown. The Fleece is about 150m

downhill on the left.

Buses 4F (Seacroft-Leeds City Centre-Pudsey) and 205 (Dewsbury-Pudsey)

pass The Fleece along Fartown.

New Pudsey railway station - 3k walk via Owlcotes Shopping Centre and

Pudsey Town Centre.

The Fleece Inn are kindly allowing us to use the bar for indoor registration and to use their toilets. Please consider buying a drink at the bar after your run. On Wednesday evenings, there is a quiz, with sandwiches starting at 9pm.





Entry Details

Please enter in advance via Race Sign Up https://racesignup.co.uk/

Entry on the day via Racesignup before 18:00 or contactless payment, cash payment or Helper Voucher.

ALL COMPETITORS please complete your details on the race registration

form at the payment position. Most importantly your contact phone number, for safety and insurance purposes even if you have entered via Race Signup.

This is so that we know who actually starts as we do not use SI timing at these events.


Course Information

Choose between 45 min or 60 min score

There will be 30 controls each worth 10 points. All controls will be either postboxes or lampposts. 10 point penalty for each one minute (or part) late back to registration.

You are required to touch each control but we trust you to count them for yourself and declare your score when you return to registration.



Terrain Description

The area comprises most of Pudsey and Fulneck and is typical urban terrainwith some hilly areas. All controls are adjacent to surfaced roads but there are places where the quickest route follows unsurfaced tracks or footpaths, for example, through parkland or playing fields.

The map uses Open Orienteering Map (see Peel Park map sample). The map is A3 in size at a scale of 1:7500 with 5m contours.
