Level of event: Local
Type of event: Coaching, Training
The series is designed to cater for beginners of all ages.
All children and young people can take part in the events.
We also welcome adults who would lie to try out the sport
Parkland venues are chosen so suitable courses can be planned in a safe environment.
Assembly will be in the park 150m up the path from the main park gates at Bradford Road, BD18 3BX
There is a very limited car park at the park entrance, but please note there are also other events on in the park on this day, so the car park may be busy. There is another small car park at Cliffe Gardens entrance to the park, 500m further south in the direction of Bradford. Otherwise street parking where legal, or use of Asda car park (limited to 2 hours) or 2 car parks on St Pauls Road (400m north on Bradford Road) are the best possibilities
At the venue look for the Airienteers banner and tent.
We will be ready to see you from 1:00 pm
When you arrive you will receive a “Dibber”, an electronic timing chip, given the opportunity to look at the map before you start and an AIRE coach will be on hand to assist to talk you through what to do and answer any questions. The course start will be adjacent. There you receive the map for your course, and you can start at intervals in your own time. You can start at any time up to 2.30 pm.
We suggest a cash donation of £1 per person for the day.
For youngest competitors we provide 3 short courses. Do 1 and we tend to find a lot of the kids end up doing all 3!
For older children a single medium course still staying within the parkland area.
For Adult beginners we offer a longer course of around 3.5km direct line (you will run further) which which also stays within the park and woodland. Ideal for someone with a “Park Runner” type background.
