Organiser’s reflection

I hope you enjoyed the event and the weather we brought with us from Yorkshire.
It was glorious in the wood, and it was a mark of the support from AIRE volunteers that I even had a chance to run.

Many thanks to everyone for packing into cars so well, and for many kind comments about the event. We nearly, but not quite, ran out of parking space. I believe that no-one had to park on the road. An hour or so after the event loads of scouts’ parents turned up to collect their offspring and the main car park and adjacent road were crammed - we got out just in time.

Special thanks to controller Chris Heppenstall and planner Chris Burden for their hard work. Also the Scout Association, Lakeland OC and Dick Towler for allowing us to use their magnificent terrain. We hope to come back.

Lost property: a very tatty bum bag containing a rather better cagoule was left by the finish control.
Mail me if you would like it returned: chair@aire.org.uk
