Directions / Parking

Parking and Event Centre is at Gotts Park Golf Club Club House, off Armley Ridge Road, LS12 2QU.

Please car share. Or preferably use public transport. Buses 14, 72, 86, 87 X6 and X11 pass nearby.


Registration & Start Times

The Golf Course club house will provide the facilities for the evening.

Please wear a mask when inside. Please remove muddy shoes.

Enter through the main front door. Registration and Download will be on the ground floor.

The spacious club bar on first floor will be open for Drinks and Soup and Roll.

Registration from 5.15 - 6.00

Starts from 5.45 - 6.30

Start is 100m from the Club House adjacent to the car park.

Finish is adjacent to the clubhouse.

Courses close promptly at 8.00 and controls will be collected shortly thereafter.

If you are likely to take a long time, please ensure that you start early please.

Payment will be taken on the night. Card or exact change please.

Limited entry on the day will also be available, as long as maps remain available, but please pre enter to guarantee map for your chosen course.

EOD: Seniors £12.00 (£2 reduction for BO members) Juniors & Students £5.00

SI card hire: £1

Hired SI cards will be available to collect at Download. A charge of £30 will be made for lost or non-returned hire SI cards. After your run they must be left in a box beside the splits printer.

Controls will be SIAC enabled. But you must dib at the Start and at the Finish.

Competitors with standard or hired SI cards must also dib at all controls.

It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that their SI card has registered at the control.

Covid-19 Considerations: Please keep to the British Orienteering covid code of conduct:

Before attending any orienteering activity all participants should self-assess for Covid-19 symptoms which include: a high temperature; a new continuous cough; and a loss of, or change to, their sense of taste or smell. If you, or anyone you live with, has one or more of these symptoms, however mild, you should not attend the event.

Similarly if you have been informed that you need to self-isolate, then you must do so.

Please try to:

1. Maintain social distancing at all times

2. Make use of the hand sanitiser available at the toilets, pre-start and download

2. Be quiet at the start line

3. Only speak with event officials if absolutely necessary.

4. Minimise the amount of time spent in close proximity to others.

5. Respect other people's personal space.

6. Observe any local and national covid guidelines when travelling to and from the event.

Medium 3.0km

Short 2.0km

There is only one road within the area ,which gives access to the car park. One leg has a route option to run on pavement beside road which does not need to be crossed. Take care when in vicinity of vehicles. The road bridge to the north of the area which is currently closed to traffic is open to pedestrians.

Parts of the course are adjacent to deep water canal/river take care in these areas and only utilise marked/established crossing points.

All Golf Course greens are marked on the map and are strictly Out of Bounds. Please do not run through any bunkers.

In the event of possible severe weather, please check www.aire.org.uk for information about possible cancellation, or phone the organiser.

Take care on slippery surfaces and slopes particularly if icy.

Full arm and leg cover is required. Please make sure that you bring suitable clothing - thermal layers, waterproofs, hat, gloves,etc to cope with whatever the weather throws at us. Shoes with good grips are essential.

In severe weather carrying a cagoule may be compulsory ,notice will be given at registration.Carrying a whistle is strongly advised. A spare torch is recommended.


Remember that you must download even if you retire from your course.
