Firstly apologies for the 2 slightly misplaced controls, and to those of you who were not informed of the misnumbered control at the far end of the map. I'm afraid both the result of a rather doddery old control setter who had not previewed the course, and was running out of time and energy in the somewhat testing terrain. Pete Jones, the planner, was otherwise engaged on domestic duties
We had a visit from Peter Brooke, the Chief Exec of British Orienteering, and Wendy took the photos for BO. Peter last week told us that Aire have staged more events since the the restart of orienteering than any other club, along with Forth Valley.
Haven't seen the results yet, but I'd imagine they were comparatively slow, as many of you commented on the physical nature of the course.
One of the downsides of our curent pre-entry system is that we are getting a very high percentage of no-shows, and hence a lot of wasted maps. It would be good if folks cancelled their entry if they do not intend to attend.
