Directions / Parking

The start (and assembly) will be in the park in the centre of Burley (Grange Park, LS29 7BU). Parking should be on the roads around the park (on which there tend to be a lot of space, and are free to park on). There is a train station in Burley and it is well served by buses as well.


Registration & Start Times

Registration from 18:15 to 19:00

Starts 18:45 - 19:30 (or as soon as the course is ready)

Courses close 20:15

If you think you will take a long time please start as early as possible. Controls will be collected in from 20:15 at which time all competitors should have finished and downloaded (which for newcomers means that you have to go back to registration and check back in so that we know that you have finished).

Entry Details

Entry on the day via Racesignup before 17:00 or contactless payment, cash payment or Helper Voucher.

Senior BOF members £4; senior non-BOF £5; juniors £2. Dibber hire £1 (BOF have increased their levy for Non-BOF members to £2.50 per event. We are now putting a supplement of £1 to go towards that levy).

COVID Guidance for competitors & volunteers

Before attending any orienteering activity all participants should self-assess for Covid-19 symptoms. If you, or anyone you live with, has one or more of these symptoms, however mild, you should not attend the event.

Course Information

• Long - 4.7km, 50m climb, 17 controls - three of which have a SI box on to punch.

• Short - 2.0km, 20m climb, 9 controls

Important Information

Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.

Insurance: Everyone is welcome to take part in this event. However, from 1st January 2026, participants who are not members of British Orienteering will no longer be covered by British Orienteering’s public liability insurance. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered by our insurance. By entering any event from 1st January 2026, you acknowledge that you are taking part at your own risk. British Orienteering’s public liability insurance used to cover non-members at events before this date.
