Directions / Parking

Parking and assembly at Ilkley Grammar School,  entrance on the B6382,  Springs Lane LS29 8TG

Registration & Start Times

Registration from 9.30 to 11.45  at the Grammar School

Starts 10.30 -12.40 for far (Burley) start courses: Black, Brown, Short Brown, Blue, Short Blue, Green, Short Green, Long very light green (for fit adults with limited O experience). Transport to this start mainly train and walk (~45mins) - see pre-race info - but minibus shuttle for 70+, short green and split start parents.

Starts 10.30 - 11.45 for near (Ilkley Moor) starts: White and Yellow (15 mins walk), Orange, Light Green and Very Short Green (25 mins walk).

This is exposed moorland. Come suitably prepared if conditions are poor. Please note that the terrain is quite hard for novice courses - rough, rocky, small paths. The courses are not suitable for push chairs. Take care to enter the right course.

Terrain Description

North-facing open moorland scarp slope with a wealth of rock and contour detail. Many paths, marked and unmarked, on Ilkley Moor. Mostly runnable: no tussocks but some areas of dead bracken and occasional heather. Some very big crags.

Burley Moor is virgin terrain with some interesting quarried areas.

Dog restrictions

Parking is in school grounds and adjacent medical centre and roads. 
No dogs in the school or grounds please, or on Burley Moor.
