Evie Conway wins W18 Elite

Last edited: Wed 24 Apr 2019

Easter weekend saw over 30 club members running at the annual JK Orienteering Festival. The event consisted of a sprint race at Aldershot Garrison, followed by middle and long distance individual races at Windmill Hill and Cold Ash respectively and the final race being a relay at Minley.

There were some great results for Aire members over the weekend, with star performance being Evie Conway who won W18E overall with two 2nd place finishes on the day in both the middle and long.

Peter Haines was second overall in M65 but first Brit (beaten by former World Champs medallist Sigurd Daehli of Norway) with 3rd and 2nd places on the days....

Other podium performances over the weekend came from;

Ali McLeod 2nd M21E Sprint.

Steve Webb 2nd M55 Sprint.

Jack Beavers 2nd Middle and Long M12B.

Bryony McLeod Middle 2nd W21L.

Holly Avis Long 2nd W20L.

Tony Thornley Long 2nd M70L.

The weekend was run on good areas and maps and generally well organised. Unfortunately however there were major issues with the timing and results system and all the above results are provisional, the Relay results have not been available even in provisional form, so apologies for any errors or omissions.
