Airienteers score equal third in Compass Sport Cup final

Thanks to everyone who made the trip up to Scotland and ran so well representing AIRE in the Compass Sport Cup final. While the huge teams of defending champions SYO and hosts FVO were fighting it out for the overall win (which went narrowly to SYO) we had a very close tussle with Lakeland for third place. In the end we were tied on points from our top 25 scoring runners and the equivalent of a photo finish or penalty shoot out was awarded to Lakeland as their 26th counter was ahead of ours.

But overall it was our best performance for many years and encouraging for the future as we had several runners who were unable to make the trip on this occasion. It was great to be part of a well organised final in the challenging terrain of Devilla and Tulliallan. Full reports to follow in the forthcoming edition of Aire Affairs.
