What a lovely evening! I'm sure this helped with the big turn out. Thanks to everyone who came - I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as I did.
I tried to put plenty of route choice legs into the sprint course and from the car park chat it seemed people where taking different routes on many legs. Certainly from the start I could see runners leaving control 1 in a variety of directions. Control 5 seemed to catch many out - the slope tempting people to drift left down the hill. Control 7 also caused errors - I had debated whether to put any controls in depressions at all but decided in the end to go for a couple of short legs to the really big ones.
The bracken has grown massively in the last week - if this event had been any later in the year the courses would have been quite a bit different.
Note to future WEI organisers: quite a few new orienteers turned up - it would have been nice to have had a bit of club info to hand out.
