Parking in the town centre. Best in the Council (Morrisons) Car Park off Queensway, across the road from the Start and Finish. There will be an orienteering kite at the entrance, but no parking officials.
Turn right on entering the car park and park at the end of the car park furthest from the supermarket and take note of any restrictions.
Note that the post code given on the location page is 100m to the NE of the car park entrance. The Grid Reference is more accurate.
The start is across Queensway to the right on the edge of Scatcherd Park 75m from the car park entrance. Please only go to the start when it is your allocated start time. Maintain social distancing at all times.
Toilets: There are no public toilets in Morley, and we are unable to provide portable toilets due to Covid security concerns in such a public place. If using the motorway network please use Services: M1 Wooley Edge or Leeds Skelton Lake, M62 Ferrybridge or Hartshead Moor. Otherwise use your facilities at home before departure or make your own en route arrangements. We would like to minimise the use of the supermarket facilities.
There will be no registration.
Controls will be SIAC enabled. But you must dib at the Start and at the Finish.
Competitors with standard or hired SI cards must also dib at all controls.
Hired SI cards can be collected at the start. After your run they must be left in a box beside the splits printer.
Starts 10.30 - 12.30
Start Procedure
Maintain social distancing.
Please try and adher to your allocated start time. There is 1 start for all courses. Call up will be 2 minutes before your start.
Please use the hand sanitiser provided before entering the start lane.
There are 2 start lanes 2m apart either side of the start box. Each lane is divided into two 1 minute boxes. You can use either lane, but only 1 person in each box
The first box contains the SI clear and check boxes on stakes, in the following order: SIAC Battery Test, Clear, Check. You need to dib these in that order for SIAC cards. For standard and hire SI cards just use Clear then Check. The second box contains the SIAC On/Off test. (Simply waft your SIAC card.)
The second box is the start line. There will be no loose control descriptions or display maps.
On start time pick up your map from the course box, taking care to ensure you only pick up one. Remember to dib at the start box.
Control Descriptions will be available for you to print from this webpage from 3rd January.
