Thanks to CEG, the developers of the new Kirkstall Forge development, parking will be in the office car park behind (to the east of) the main office building of Number One Kirkstall Forge, which is close to Kirkstall Forge station. There is a barrier on the car park so please wait for the marshal to have it raised for you.
The postcode for Kirkstall Forge is LS5 3BF.
On Sundays Kirkstall Forge station has hourly Leeds-Shipley-Bradford trains, with connections at Leeds and Shipley. There are buses about every 20mins along the A65. Public Transport maps and information are available at www.WYmetro.com
Kirkstall Forge has good cycle parking facilities.
From Leeds City centre follow the A65 westwards. 1.5 km after Kirkstall Abbey turn left at the traffic lights, following the signs to Kirkstall Forge.
From the Leeds outer ring road (west) follow A65 eastwards, downhill through Horsforth to the Kirkstall Forge traffic lights.
The event will be signed at the Kirkstall Forge traffic lights on the A65.
Registration, download and toilets will be at the front of Number One Kirkstall Forge. Toilets are inside the office building so please remove (very) muddy shoes.
Hot drinks and (hopefully) light refreshments will be available in Butler’s cafe which is located on the ground floor of Number One Kirkstall Forge office building, beside registration and download. They hope to be open from 10.00am. Again, after your run, please get reasonably cleaned up before going into the cafe.
But please do use Butlers!

For Brown to Light Green: Senior = £10 and Juniors £5
Orange for seniors and juniors - £5
White and Yellow are free to juniors £5 for seniors.
Dibber hire is £1 but free to juniors on White and Yellow
Electronic Punching
Controls will be enabled for Contactless punching with SIACs.
The punching Start and Finish will not be in Contactless mode and need to be punched by all competitors.
A “SIAC BATTERY CHECK” control box will be located near to registration. This is to test that the battery level of the SIAC dibber is sufficient for the event.
A “SIAC ON/Test” control box will be available in the start lane, this will ensure the SIAC is in contactless mode.
It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that their SIcard has registered at every control.
Traditional SI cards will be available for hire at the event from Enquiries. A charge of £30 will be made for lost or non-returned hire SI cards.
White: 1.2k 30m climb Very Easy - For young and inexperienced juniors
Yellow: 2.0k 60m climb Easy - For juniors with a little experience
Orange: 2.1k 60m climb Moderately Easy - For more experienced juniors and inexperienced seniors.
Light Green: 2.6k 60m climb Moderately Hard - For experienced juniors
Short Green: 2.3k 50m climb Hard
Green: 4.3k 115m climb Hard
Blue: 5.8k 155m climb Hard
Brown: 6.7k 180m climb Hard
All course lengths subject to final controlling.
There is an 800m level walk on good paths to the Start
There are 2 Finishes. There is a 500m walk to Download from the Green, Blue and Brown Finish.
There is a 700m walk to download on level good paths for all other courses.
The paths to and from the Junior courses cross narrow but fenced bridges over canal locks.
Both parts of the competition area are mainly open runnable woodland with some open parkland and generally moderate undergrowth.
Green, Blue and Brown courses cross 2 busy roads and also run along 3 very quiet roads for short distances. There will be no timed out road crossings. Take note of the detailed information regarding road crossings on the display maps in the start lanes.
The map includes areas under development or for other reasons marked as “out of bounds” - please strictly avoid these areas.
