Promising Junior performances at major competitions
Congratulations to the 5 Aire Juniors who competed over the weekend of 5/6 June in the Lake District. The areas of Summerhouse Knott and High Dam are physically and navigationally tough. Most of you will not have run in such hard areas or read such a complex map before. The events also attracted the best orienteers from GB as the races were selection races for international events. You should all be proud of your performance!

Yvette Baker Trophy – great results!
A huge, big thank you to 13 Aire juniors who ran for the club at the Yvette Baker heat at Middleton Park. TEAM AIRE was:
Jack, Jake, Tom, Annie, Megan, Katie, James, Harry, Henry, Jack, Bethan, Charlie & Kate.
Although SYO (South Yorkshire) scored more points - 899, we had enough runners to score on each course meaning that we were only a few points behind- 861 despite their large turn out. That is a brilliant achievement when many of you have done so little orienteering for a year.
Highlights were Katie who finished smiling though dripping wet with rain and our youngest competitor Kate who persevered on a tricky yellow course in her smart new Aire top.
